Rare. In the early 1960s, Sears, Roebuck hired actor Vincent Price to review over 2,000 original and printed works of art. The collection included this oil by Joo-Yon Ohm Cederberg titled "Summer Interlude". In addition to being a great actor and an outstanding chef, Vincent Price was also a great fan of art, including prints, paintings and oils. Among other works Price included prints by Rembrandt, Toulouse Lautrec and Goya in his Sears collection. Ohm Cederberg was born in North Koria, migrated to South Korea, became a translator for Major Kermit Cederberg in the U.S. artillery. When the Korean War ended Major Kermit and Marion Cederberg adopted Joo-Yon whose name became Joo-Yon Ohm-Cederberg (AKA Ohm Cederberg) a painter in oils including "Summer Interlude". Cederberg studied studied at the Minneapolis Museum of Art and the Cranbrook School of Art in Michigan. Cederberg was known as a fine abstract painter as well as an outstanding teacher. Cederberg was born February 28, 1927 and died April 30, 2011. "Summer Interlude" originally sold from Sears for $275.00. Each work in the Vincent Price collection as a six-digit number starting with MO. This number appears on the work's back, the ID for the Vincent Price Collection, and a paragraph purportedly written by Price himself. The artist's signature appears in the lower right corner. Cederberg was considered an American painter.
